Configuration
Customize Innovatic to fit your workflow.
Innovatic is designed to work well out of the box, with minimal configuration required. Most settings are accessible from the Settings panel, which you can open from the top menu or the sidebar.
API key
Your Anthropic API key is the one required configuration. See API Keys for setup instructions.
Default model
By default, all new conversations start in Auto mode, which selects the optimal model for each task. If you prefer a specific model as your default, you can set it in Settings → Default Model.
Auto mode is recommended for most users. Switching to a fixed default model makes sense if you have specific cost or speed requirements across all your work.
Repository settings
When you connect a repository, Innovatic stores per-project preferences:
- Default branch — the branch agents merge into when work is complete
- Worktree location — where isolated agent branches are created (defaults to inside the repository)
These settings can be adjusted from the repository panel in the workspace.
Keyboard shortcuts
Innovatic supports keyboard shortcuts throughout the interface. The most frequently used ones:

Full keyboard shortcut customization is on the roadmap. For now, the shortcuts above are fixed.
